As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance digital transformation and optimize technological resources, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has achieved significant milestones by adopting reuse as a strategic approach¹. This initiative has led to substantial financial and technical savings, while also fostering a culture of digital collaboration and solution sharing among government entities.

Reuse: A Path Toward Sustainable Digital Transformation

By leveraging digital solutions available in the government repository², the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has successfully accelerated development processes, reduced operational costs, and enhanced efficiency. Reuse was not just a technical option, as two reuse cases were implemented, namely:

  1. 1. Business Card Reader from Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University
  2. 2.Talent and Expertise System from National Guard Health Affairs

Rather, it was a strategic vision aimed at achieving digital sustainability³ and enhancing the added value of the industrial and mining sectors.

Achieving Savings: A Smart Investment in Digital Resources

The ministry's initiatives have helped reduce technical costs and minimize the need to build systems from scratch, resulting in notable financial savings⁴. These efforts have also served as a catalyst for accelerating innovation and improving the efficiency of government services.

Promoting Culture: Strengthening Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

Recognizing the importance of knowledge sharing and a reuse culture, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has actively participated in workshops and awareness initiatives⁵ in collaboration with the Digital Government Authority. These efforts enhanced awareness about the benefits of collaboration and digital integration.

Published Products: Empowering Government Entities

Beyond utilizing existing digital solutions, the ministry has enriched the government repository by publishing two digital products⁶. This enables other entities to benefit from proven, innovative solutions, fostering a collaborative digital environment.

Towards a More Sustainable and Innovative Digital Future

These initiatives represent key milestones in the ministry’s digital transformation journey, highlighting the importance of integration and knowledge exchange⁷ in building a more efficient, sustainable government ecosystem aligned with national digital transformation goals.
