As part of its commitment to fostering digital innovation and optimizing resources, the General Authority for Food Security has achieved remarkable milestones through the adoption of the reuse approach¹. This initiative has resulted in significant technical and financial savings², while also promoting a culture of collaboration and digital product sharing³.
Reuse: Building a Sustainable Digital Future
By leveraging digital solutions available in the government repository⁴, the authority has successfully accelerated development, enhanced operational efficiency, and reduced redundancy.
Three reuse cases have been implemented:
- 1. Message Sending Service from the Ministry of Tourism
- 2. Web Systems Monitoring from Qassim University
- 3. Civil Service Employee Transfer System for Contracts from the Social Development Bank
This initiative reflects the authority’s commitment to a strategic vision for sustainable digital transformation⁵ and delivering added value to the government sector.
Achieving Savings: Optimized Resource Utilization
Through reuse, the authority has minimized the need for developing systems from scratch, leading to total savings of 535,000 SAR⁶. Beyond financial benefits, this effort has also accelerated innovation and improved the effectiveness of government services.
Published Products: Empowering Other Entities
In addition to adopting existing solutions, the authority has also published five software products in the government repository⁷. This contribution enables other government entities to benefit from tested and reliable systems, fostering a collaborative and innovative digital ecosystem.
Digital Transformation Through Collaboration and Participation
These achievements serve as foundational steps in the national digital transformation journey, underscoring the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in shaping a sustainable and efficient digital future. This approach drives greater integration between government entities, aligned with the broader vision of a modern and digitally empowered government.
